Photografic Service

This service has a laboratory equipped with modern photographic cameras, which allow images to be obtained in any format, as well as accessory lighting equipment and a black and white film-developing laboratory.

The photographic archive holds over 20,000 negatives, many of which have been developed to facilitate research work. These include a large proportion of the graphic evidence from the archaeological investigation of Mérida's sites, dating from the earliest turn-of-the-century investigations, as well as the Museum's own Permanent Collection and over 5,000 slides on 35 mm and half format.

Access to the photographic archive is free to any one interested from Monday to Friday, mornings only. Identification will be required.

Copies of photographs or slides can be requested following the norms laid down by the legislation as it stands.
