Restoring Departament
- 1.1- Schemes aimed at restoring archaeological pieces from the Museum's Permanent Collection are carried out through the National Museums' Sub department or "Subdirección General de Museos" and via a pre-established reserve collection management policy.
- 1.2- Museum technicians are regularly involved both in the restoring of pictorial remains in Mérida (such as the House of Mithraeum, or the Calle Parejos House) and in the cleaning, consolidation and restoring of diverse archaeological materials (marble, glass, bronze etc.) whose rarity and importance justify such special treatment by our specialists. This is organised by means of agreements reached with other cultural institutions such as the Mérida archaeological consortium known as "Consorcio de la Ciudad Monumental Histórico-Artistica y Arqueológica de Mérida", and with the collaboration of the technical colleges known as Escuelas Superiores de Restauración.
