Changes to the educational system have directly influenced museums, which have had to adapt themselves to new pedagogical tendencies by adopting lines of work more in accordance with present needs.
One of the essential functions of this Area is to optimise the didactic resources offered by the NMRA's permanent collection, which along with the Research, Conservation and Documentation departments, facilitate the exhaustive study of the pieces.
Student visits, partly at the instigation of educational centres, have propitiated a new outlook on learning. This has led to the creation of educational programmes tailored for different kinds of visits, thus improving the Museum's communication with students. The Department has also taken the need to satisfy the demands of a varied public into account by carrying out such diverse activities as: running courses, seminars, and periodic conferences, the creation of didactic materials and the training of monitors. In this respect, we should also mention the personalised attention offered to individual members of the public at the information point.
